Over the past 20+ years, Rose has helped hundreds of
students navigate the complex college admissions process.
While serving on the Guidance Advisory Committee
in Metuchen, New Jersey, in the early 2000s, Rose noticed a
gap in services for parents navigating the college
admissions process for (and with!) their high school
children. She realized that many parents needed someone who
could work hand-in-hand with their children to identify the
best fit colleges for them and help organize, prioritize,
structure, and review applications as well as provide them
with a timeline to meet deadlines. Thus, CAPS was born.
Although
the process itself looks a bit different now, Rose’s
dedication to helping families remains the same. Her
extensive experience has provided her with valuable insight
into the ways in which various college admission departments
function. This understanding allows her to create strategic
plans for each of her students, streamlining the process for
them and their families.
Additionally, Rose is
familiar with the anxieties parents face when helping their
children with this transition, having sent a few of her own
kids off to college. Her educational background and
first-hand experience allows her to evaluate various family
dynamics, including those stemming from these anxieties, to
better set clients up for success.
Rose received
her M.A. in College Counseling & Student Development
from Hunter College and her B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers
University.
In addition to Rose's expertise, CAPS clients can also benefit from working with an expert career advisor, who is a Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) from the National Career Development Association and a Board Certified Coach (BCC) from the Center For Credentialing & Education.
